NOH is also a very interesting place to work as a volunteer for short periods. Medical students, pre-medical students, physiotherapists, nurses and other professionals have worked in this hospital for short terms. A long list of volunteers have already worked in the hospital and their experience has always been very positive. Volunteers can work, learn a few things and then go on short visits to various interesting tourist destinations in Nepal.

NOH requires a lot of financial help to run the hospital and do charitable work. From the very beginning NOH has been trying to achieve self- sustainability.
      Even now NOH depends entirely on donations for capital investment which includes the addition of hardware like surgical equipment, lifts, instruments etc

In Nepal there is no social security or health insurance system, every patient has to pay the full charge. Because of the low income ,only few patients are able to pay these charges. The hospital's motto has been that of service to the under-privileged since the very beginning and we have made every effort to ensure that charity is afforded to the neediest. Charity has been granted to almost 21% of our patients and the amount also comes to around 20% of our total revenue. During the last fiscal year 305 patients received either full or partial charity for their treatment.
