Nepal Orthopaedic Hospital has been involved in many activities since the very beginning. A few of these activities are as follows:
OUT-PATIENT SERVICES
Our out-patient services include four rooms for patient consultations, one plaster room, one reception desk and a spacious lounge for waiting patients. Patients from all over the country come to avail of the services and prices have been kept deliberately low and affordable to most of our patients. We see around 12000 outpatients currently.
EMERGENCY SERVICE
Emergency services are open 24 hours and there is a doctor on duty for tackling any emergent medical situation. However our emergency is not yet geared to tackle acute trauma with life threatening conditions. These patients are given first aid and referred. Most patients are admitted and planned for surgery on routine surgical days.
INPATIENT SERVICES \ SURGERY
There are 3 modern operation theatres which include a separate theatre to operate just on infected cases. Our surgical team includes well-trained and experienced surgeons who have been trained in Nepal, China, Germany, Belgium and Australia. The operation theatres are equipped with state of the art anaesthesia machines , modern monitors, fracture tables and c-arm fluoroscopes to augment accuracy during surgery. A modern and well-equipped post-operative station helps in further monitoring of patients during critical postoperative periods. More than 1100 surgeries are performed annually.
There are 75 beds in total and these are included in separate male and female general wards, an infection ward , a children's ward and the private ward . The general wards and children's ward and infection wards are where poorer patients, who have been given full or partial charity, stay and the private ward is where the paying patients stay.
